Requirements

Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or Architectural Engineering
Experience with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote)
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets and develop actionable insights
Must be willing to communicate and collaborate with multiple disciplines and other internal and external stakeholders (vendors, clients and contractors)
Eagerness to learn about the AEC industry and apply academic knowledge to real-world engineering applications

Nice To Haves

Interest in the Food & Beverage or Life Sciences industry strongly preferred
Working towards Fundamental of Engineering Exam registration or completion preferred
Familiarity with Engineering Software Application including computer aided drafting, process modeling and calculations programs
Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards within the AEC industry
Prior internship or co-op experience in Structural Engineering or related field

Responsibilities

Work under the direction of an assigned mentor to develop and implement project deliverables.
Perform analysis of building materials for use in construction.
Design load-bearing structures or structural elements, such as buildings, equipment supports and foundations.
Perform structural analysis of new and existing structures for both gravity and lateral (wind and seismic) load conditions.
Prepare structural calculations, reports and details of structural elements that conform to client, regulatory, and industry standards.
Utilize computer aided drafting and a variety of engineering software.
Responsible for basic lay out structural systems in conformance with code requirements and in coordination with other design disciplines.
Conduct basic field investigations to integrate the design with existing systems and structures.
Assist with development of conceptual designs and coordinating with the design team under direction of the project team lead.
Coordinate with multiple disciplines and other internal and external team members (e.g., vendors, clients, and contractors).
