About The Position

DPP is seeking a Structural Engineer III for an opportunity with our client in the Aerospace and Defense Manufacturing industry. This is a 12-month contract position, working onsite in Melbourne, FL, with a shift of 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM. The role requires US citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain a government Secret clearance. As a Structural Engineer III, you will support the Stress Engineering department by performing static, dynamic, and DaDT structural analyses of metallic and composite airframe structure, mechanical systems, and equipment using both manual and automated methods. You may also derive non-flight applied loads and create/extract/distribute internal loads using tools like FEMAP, NX, and Teamcenter. Strong collaboration, prioritization, and problem-solving skills are essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with a minimum of 12 years’ experience to include a background in aerospace structural analysis; OR a Master’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 10 years’ experience to include a background in aerospace structural analysis; OR Ph.D. degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 7 years’ experience to include a background in aerospace structural analysis
  • The ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.

Responsibilities

  • Perform static, dynamic, and DaDT structural analyses of metallic and composite airframe structure, mechanical systems, and equipment by hand and by using the automated methods and procedures approved for the program.
  • Derive non-flight applied loads, create, extract, and distribute internal loads utilizing tools such as FEMAP, NX, Teamcenter and other software applications.
  • Collaborate in a team environment.
  • Prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish the project result.
  • Prioritize multiple responsibilities and/or accomplish them simultaneously.
  • Comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions.
