About The Position

The Structural Engineer / Stress Analyst performs structural analysis using hand calculations and finite element analysis (FEA) on highly loaded subsea structures, including remotely operated vehicle (ROV) frames, mechanisms, pressure vessels, ship over-boarding equipment, and advanced development projects. The role works with design engineers from a program’s initial stages through structural testing and completion, helping influence load paths and ensure structural integrity. The work includes static and dynamic studies and linear and nonlinear structural analysis, including transient shock, fatigue and fracture, bolt and weld analysis, load-test definition, DDAM, and documentation.

Requirements

  • Be a U.S. citizen and have the capability to obtain a security clearance.
  • Have 5–15 years of experience in stress analysis.
  • Be proficient in standard industry analytical methods, including FEA and classical hand analysis.
  • Have proficiency in ANSYS, NASTRAN, or a similar tool.
  • Have basic proficiency in a 3D CAD platform.
  • Be familiar with analyses including static, dynamic, loads, nonlinear contact, stability, vibration, frequency response, transient shock, DDAM, bolt analysis, weld analysis, fatigue, fracture, structural optimization, and pressure vessel analysis.
  • Have organizational skills and the ability to prioritize daily activities to meet department objectives.
  • Have very good written communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and understand technical requirements and reports.
