Structural Engineer II (Onsite)

EDP participants will complete three to four rotations to build technical breadth and leadership abilities before graduating from the program.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree, or Bachelor’s degree and 2 years experience in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering obtained by start date.
- Experience with at least one of the following: Statics, Dynamics, Mechanics of Materials
- Minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA
- Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
Nice To Haves
- Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience
- Experience with finite element analysis
- Experience with fatigue analysis
- Experience with technical communication
Responsibilities
- Structural design and analysis of combustors, diffusers, turbines, exhaust components, and more.
- Conduct design iterations for structural robustness in new designs and re-designs
- Conduct root cause analysis in support of engine/hardware investigations
- Create Technical Substantiation Packages for non-conforming hardware analysis.
- Make technical recommendations to Integrated Product Team (IPT) in order to balance durability, weight, cost, and more.
