About The Position

AECOM is hiring a Structural Engineer to join their New York based office. This role involves performing structural design and analysis for various building types, including commercial, government, and transportation structures. The engineer will gather and correlate basic engineering data, propose approaches to solve new problems, and identify discrepancies in results. Work will be performed in accordance with agreed-upon budgets and schedules with moderate supervision. Responsibilities also include preparing and coordinating Revit BIM models, providing technical guidance to graduate engineers, conducting quality control reviews, participating in interdisciplinary project reviews, preparing technical specifications, and managing project budgets and schedules with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • BS in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering or related discipline plus two (2) years of related experience in the structural design of buildings and transportation structures or demonstrated equivalency of experience/education.
  • Must be able to perform site visits to observe construction activities and/or prepare condition assessment reports.

Nice To Haves

  • Specific software experience in ETABS or SAP, RAM Structural, AutoCAD, SAFE, TEDDS, SAP, MathCAD, SpecsIntact, spColumn, spBeam, spWall, Enercalc.
  • Revit experience is highly desirable.
  • Masters in Structural Engineering.
  • Three (3) years of professional Structural Engineering experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural design and analysis for various building types, including commercial, government, and transportation structures.

  • Prepare and coordinate Revit BIM models, ensuring integration with other disciplines' 3D models.
  • Provide technical guidance to graduate engineers and conduct quality control reviews of design calculations and drawings.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary project reviews and prepare technical specifications.
  • Manage project budgets and schedules with minimal supervision, proposing solutions to new challenges.
  • Coordinate with in-house engineering disciplines and conduct peer reviews as needed.
