About The Position

The Structural Engineer will support the design and construction of electrical substations, greenfield stations, battery storage stations, transmission lines, and other electrical infrastructure. This role supports the maintenance and upgrade of the nation's electrical grid system to accommodate the increase in electrical generation and load demand. The position is responsible for projects from proposal development to execution of engineering designs, to construction support for structural aspects of electrical infrastructure projects. Under supervision of a senior structural engineer, the engineer will complete structural analysis, perform calculations, and prepare sketches and drawings for the design of supporting structures and foundations for substation equipment, transmission line structures and other energy infrastructure. The role also involves supporting structural efforts on engineering services and EPC projects, ensuring complete design packages are delivered to the client within budget and on time with a high level of quality. Collaboration with other design disciplines, colleagues, construction contractors, consultants, materials suppliers, and clients is essential. The engineer must ensure all designs meet local, state, and federal regulations, as well as client specifications. Responsibilities include performing reviews of existing facilities to propose upgrades and replacements, presenting findings and recommendations, and providing as-built and project closeout support. Site visits, advising on engineering issues, and modifying designs to solve issues during construction are also part of the role. Regular attendance is required.
