About The Position

Accenture Infrastructure & Capital Projects is seeking a Structural Engineer Associate to perform moderately complex structural engineering work. This role involves preparing, analyzing, and reviewing design plans, specifications, estimates, and reports to comply with federal, state, and local agency guidelines. The associate will also perform contract administration, review structural services from consultants and architects, and prepare various design documents and cost estimates for concrete, structural steel, timber, masonry, and metal structures. Responsibilities include assisting in project status reviews, providing advice to design staff, reviewing structural plans and calculations, creating cost requirements for alternate construction methods, assessing completed structural work for conformance and feasibility, assisting in foundation and framing plan design, and making recommendations to contractors and other stakeholders during construction. The role also requires analyzing environmental impact reports and soil test data for foundation design, preparing feasibility reports and preliminary designs, and conducting site investigations. This position is based onsite at client locations to facilitate delivery and cultivate client relationships.

Requirements

Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree in structural engineering or civil engineering with specialization on structural engineering courses.
Three (3) years full-time paid professional structural engineering experience.

Nice To Haves

Possession of a Certification as a Professional Engineer (PE) recognized by the State of CA Board of Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists is preferred.
Emphasis on school building construction is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform moderately complex structural engineering work, including preparation, analysis, and review of design plans, specifications, estimates, and reports.
Ensure compliance with guidelines set by federal, state, and local agencies.
Perform contract administration, including reviewing structural services required of engineering consultants and architects, and making appropriate revisions and recommendations.
Prepare structural design plans and specifications, quality assurance plans, conceptual and detailed cost estimates, and other reports for the construction, maintenance, and operation of various structures.
Assist in reviewing project status, initiating changes, and providing advice and assistance to structural designers and other engineering and design staff.
Assist in reviewing structural plans and specifications, and design and mathematical calculations for structural engineering projects.
Create cost and expenditure requirements for alternate means of construction.
Assist in reviewing completed structural work for conformance to recognized standards, feasibility of construction, completeness, and accuracy.
Assist in the design and layout of foundation, floor, wall, and roof framing plans for major building structures.
Make recommendations to contractors, architects, engineers, and construction inspectors on structural issues during construction.
Analyze environmental impact reports, negative declarations, and soils tests data to make appropriate recommendations for foundation design.
Prepare feasibility reports and preliminary design for proposed structures and facilities under construction.
Perform site investigations and prepare scoping reports and recommendations.
