Entry Level Drafter
About The Position
Stratus recently partnered with PVEDI is seeking a Structural Drafter to join our team. This entry-level role focuses on supporting the preparation of detailed construction support drawings for temporary works on bridges and buildings, including platforms, scaffold systems, containment framing, and access solutions. Working directly with licensed Professional Engineers and E.I.T.s, you will help transform calculations, field conditions, and design concepts into accurate, constructible CAD/BIM drawing packages for contractor use and regulatory review. This role is ideal for someone interested in building foundational technical drafting skills while gaining exposure to bridge access, scaffolding, containment, and temporary structural support design.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree, or certification in Revit, CAD, BIM, or a related field
- 0-5 years of experience in Revit, or CAD/BIM design, coursework, or relevant experience
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with Revit software (AutoCAD a plus)
- Experience designing bridge and scaffolding
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of 2D and 3D models, drawings, and layouts using CAD and BIM software according to project specifications and standards.
- Prepare basic construction documents, plans, and details under the guidance of senior designers and engineers.
- Collaborate with project teams to understand design requirements, making adjustments to drawings as needed.
- Maintain and update project files, ensuring that all digital models and drawings are organized and accessible for team members.
- Conduct quality control checks on own work to ensure accuracy and adherence to project standards before submitting for review.
- Update and revise drawings and models based on feedback from senior team members or project stakeholders.
- Follow established CAD/BIM standards and protocols to ensure consistency and quality across all project deliverables.
- Support senior CAD/BIM designers with basic technical tasks, including importing and exporting files and assisting with software troubleshooting.
