Structural Designer (Entry level/early career professional)
About The Position
Kickstart your engineering career as a Structural Designer, where you’ll gain hands-on experience in structural design and analysis under the guidance of experienced, licensed engineers. Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) - Basic
- Market Sector Software (MathCAD, AutoCAD or MicroStation) - Basic
- Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals
- Basic understanding of technical writing skills
- Clear internal communications (emails, meeting minutes, etc.)
- Basic understanding of scope, schedules, and budgets for simple tasks (i.e., identify when things are taking longer than planned).
- Basic understanding of standard design codes (AASHTO, ACI, AISC, etc.).
- Seeks oversight before external communications.
- EIT/EI required (within 6 months of hire)
- Driving is an essential job function or a valid driver’s license is required to support legitimate business purposes

Responsibilities
- Performs basic design tasks with oversight
- Performs basic levels of technical work on projects in support of more experienced staff within the market sector.
- Works on structural design teams performing simple tasks with oversight.
- Prepares quantity calculations
- Prepares structural calculations with oversight
- Edits boilerplate special provisions
- Develops contract plans and cost estimates with oversight
- Performs requested tasks with oversight.
- Other duties as assigned.
