About The Position

Foresight Land Surveying, a BHI Company, is hiring a full-time Structural Designer/Modeler based at its Vernal, North Salt Lake, or Logan, Utah office. The role designs, models, and details moderately complex projects in close coordination with structural engineering teams to achieve project goals. The designer prepares 3D models, engineered plans, and details in accordance with design codes and governmental regulations, and helps identify and resolve potential issues. The work may include preparing designs or construction plans in Revit, modeling structural layouts, buildings, and equipment, preparing 3D coordination models for construction teams, and drafting structural steel fabrication details. Autodesk CAD and 3D modeling software, such as AutoCAD 3D and Revit, will be used at least weekly and possibly daily. Applicants must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer; visa sponsorship is not available. The salary range is $70,000–$110,000, with compensation potentially exceeding that range depending on experience.

Requirements

At least 5 years of related professional experience or comparable experience.
Experience using Autodesk CAD and 3D modeling software, such as AutoCAD 3D or Revit.
Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.

Responsibilities

Design, model, and detail moderately complex projects in coordination with structural engineering teams.
Gather project details and communicate with structural engineering and fabrication teams.
Prepare 3D models, engineered plans, and project details in accordance with design codes and governmental regulations.
Create drafting models using CAD and 3D modeling software.
Help identify and address potential project issues promptly.
Assist engineering teams with designs and construction plans in Revit or similar software.
Model structural design layouts, buildings, and equipment.
Prepare 3D coordination models for construction teams.
Draft detailed structural steel fabrication plans when needed.
