Requirements

  • Degree in civil or structural engineering.
  • 4 to 10 years of industry experience.
  • Must be a professional engineer.
  • Authorized to work in Quebec and Ontario or other jurisdictions in Canada.
  • Fluency in French and English.
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) and Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
  • Experience in engineering/structural design and analysis.
  • Knowledge of basic construction site safety regulations in Quebec and Ontario.
  • Knowledge of the design of temporary structures for institutional, commercial, industrial, and civil construction sectors.
  • Experience in the structural analysis of steel, wood, aluminum, or concrete.
  • Ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple and competing priorities.
  • Collaborative team player enthusiastic about tackling complex challenges and finding innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing design plans, analyses, and calculations in accordance with codes and standards for structural optimization, formwork, temporary structures, and cranes.
  • Preparing preliminary designs and cost estimates to support the pre-construction department in bid proposals.
  • Developing creative construction methodologies to aid in winning and executing projects.
  • Providing operational support, including organizing planning and kick-off meetings, inspecting site work, transferring engineering and logistics bid information, assessing project progress, and ensuring safety.
  • Taking ownership of ongoing projects and supporting teams to minimize risks, learn from past experiences, and implement best practices.
  • Acting as a resource person to resolve technical issues.
