About The Position

The Miami, FL office of Modjeski and Masters, Inc. is seeking Structural Bridge Design Engineers with experience in Bridge Design. As a Structural Bridge Design Engineer with Modjeski and Masters, you will work on a variety of challenging and rewarding bridge engineering projects for a myriad of transportation clients. As a member of our team, you'll be immediately responsible for performing engineering tasks under the careful supervision of established and respected professionals. You'll have opportunities to interact with clients, become a valued partner on a variety of high-impact projects, and apply fresh insights at every stage of a bridge's life cycle. Requirements

• 4+ related years of related Bridge design experience
• A minimum of a BS degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

• MS preferred
• Ideal Candidates will be within 6 months of obtaining a valid PE license

Responsibilities

• Review and check standard structural design calculations.
• Perform structural analysis and design of standard bridge components using analysis software.
• Develop preliminary details using CAD software and provide information to CAD technicians for development of contract plans.
• Provide information for design reports.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including field inspections and construction service assignments.
• Communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.
• Prepare project-related documents and internal correspondence.
• Perform and check quantity take-offs from contract plans.
• Review and check drawings.
• Use engineering analysis software such as LUSAS, RISA-3D, LEAP Bridge, AutoCAD, MicroStation etc.
• Able to learn and correctly apply relevant design specifications, including: AASHTO, AREMA, AISC, ACI, etc.
• Will take on leadership roles and will be responsible for the delivery of projects, will assist Projects Managers in identifying issues and developing solutions.
• Senior Engineers will also serve as technical leads on complex projects.
