About The Position

ARCO/Murray National Construction is seeking a Structural BIM Modeler to join their team of Design Engineers and Project Managers in Downers Grove, IL. This role is crucial in guiding the delivery of schematic through construction-ready information using REVIT, Tekla, and internally developed tools and processes within a Design/Build environment.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree (AA) Degree in Computer Aided Drafting and Design or similar technical degree
  • 0-3 years of BIM Modeling in Commercial Industrial, Manufacturing, and similar project types
  • Motivated self-starter that focuses on details and quality
  • Working knowledge of Revit

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Revit for permit level document creation is a plus.
  • Experience with Tekla fabrication modeling is a plus.
  • Coding language (C#, VBA, Python) experience and interest is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop structural design information using Revit, Tekla, and Bluebeam software applications.
  • Create conceptual to construction-ready structural models based on guidance from engineering staff and coordination with other designers.
  • Perform preliminary structural system layout based on engineering team guidance and your experience.
  • Develop details to properly articulate complex structural conditions.
  • Develop and check complete drawing packages for permit submission.
  • Manage and incorporate electronic markups from engineering team into structural deliverables.
  • Collaborate with Project Management, Construction, and Engineering team members in cross-functional settings to ensure that the design is accurate and that contract responsibilities are met according to client's expectations.
  • Apply basic knowledge of building codes, standards, and other criteria in the development of project designs.
