About The Position

We are seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer for our Aero Engines Externals team. This role involves working with global teams to understand project scope, including analysis domain, boundary conditions, material models, and type of analysis. You will act as an active coordinator for various groups such as Design, Aerodynamics, and Structures teams, providing project-specific inputs. The ideal candidate can work autonomously, prioritize multiple projects, review technical presentations, interpret results, and present them to customers. Expertise in Design and Technical Discipline reviews is crucial. You will be responsible for ensuring 100% quality and on-time delivery, conducting project review meetings to share lessons learned and best practices, and providing alternative solutions for field issues. This role also involves driving process improvements through the development of automation tools, working on complex CAE problems to assist product development, and preparing technical proposals and business cases for new process improvement areas. Performing design modifications and validating them with FEA is also a key responsibility. Excellent technical, project management, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are essential.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in Stress analysis of Aero engine components (Rotors, Cases, Stators and Externals) using commercial Finite Element Analysis tool.
  • Expertise in handling various structural analysis tools preferably ANSYS Classic, Ansys Workbench, Hypermesh etc
  • 2D & 3D Finite Element modelling of simple, moderate and complex components (Hexahedral & tetrahedral elements) using ANSYS-APDL or Workbench
  • Linear and non-linear static stress analysis (Geometric, Material and contact Linearity) using ANSYS-APDL or Workbench
  • Modal, Harmonic and transient Dynamic stress analysis using ANSYS-APDL or Workbench
  • Strength, stability and Durability of components
  • Damage tolerance analysis to estimate fracture life
  • Should able to develop/modify APDL Macros
  • Should able to build/update FE Models in HyperMesh.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in scripting using Matlab, VB,TCL/Tk, Python is an added advantage
  • Knowledge of Hand Calculations, Standards and Design codes is an added advantage
  • Basic Knowledge of CAD tools is and added advantage

Responsibilities
