About The Position

The Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer (Lead) to support our Spares Engineering Design located in Long Beach, CA. This role involves planning and performing payload work at the subcomponent level to ensure compliance with structural integrity and requirements. The position also includes providing solutions for the entire Boeing portfolio within a problematic supplier, reviewing and approving analysis, guiding less experienced engineers, and collaborating with team managers and leads to assist other team members. The engineer will work with project engineers, stress, suppliers, and procurement to ensure approval of analysis and present the team independently during interactions with suppliers. Additionally, the role requires coordination with other engineering groups to meet requirements and the development of analytical processes to improve effectiveness, quality, and efficiency. Experience in design release processes, policies, and procedures, handling tooling issues, and supplier-driven changes is essential. The ability to interpret Industry/Company Standards & Processes is also required. Familiarity with tools such as CatiaV5, Enovia, STEALTH, QMAP, REDARS, ETAC, ESPEC, Bridge, and other industry engineering tools is expected.

Requirements

  • 5 + years of experience working with aircraft stress analysis/structural analysis.
  • 3 + years of experience with 3D modeling, 2D drawings and drawing packages.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Structural, Civil or Aerospace Engineering or Physics from an ABET accredited program.
  • Experience in design release processes, policies and procedures, handling tooling issues, supplier driven changes.
  • Being able to Interpret Industry/Company Standards & Processes.
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 + years of experience working on commercial or commercial derivative aircraft.
  • 3 + years of experience in aircraft structure, materials and properties, design criteria and release processes.
  • 5+ years of experience in at least one of the following areas: Support System Analysis, Spares, Provisioning, Technical Data, Training, Maintenance/Modifications and Support Equipment.
  • 5+ year of experience leading engineering teams.
  • 3+ years of experience functioning as a Design Approval Engineer (DAE).
  • Experience functioning as a Design Engineer (DE)
  • Ability to obtain LAE/DAE/DDE prior to assignment start.
