Stroke Program Coordinator (RN), Day Shift, Quality and Patient Safety
About The Position
White Oak Medical Center seeks to hire a Stroke Program Coordinator (RN) who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing. As a Stroke Program Coordinator (RN), you will monitor applicable stroke program regulatory requirements (MIEMSS, AHA, etc) and ensure development of a strategic plan for successful compliance in conjunction with the stroke medical director. You will operationalize the strategic plan for stroke care within the organization in collaboration with individual unit managers. You will establish, role-model, and monitor the standards of practice and expectations for the staff related to the stroke care standards, monitoring performance, behaviors, and competency in collaboration with unit managers. You will role-model and champion professional practice related to stroke care (to include nurse autonomy, authority, accountability, and responsibility) across the organization. You will actively lead and encourage staff participation in continuous improvement efforts, DMAICs, and shared governance. You will promote cohesive work teams and constructive conflict resolution within and between stroke units. You will execute other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Baccalaureate Degree in nursing required
- Five years of work experience in critical care area, as defined by the department-specific certification requirements
- Current Maryland State nursing license
- Current America Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate
- Certification in leadership within 1 year of eligibility
- Participation in professional organizations

Responsibilities
