About The Position

As a Striper/Painter you will perform striping/painting maintenance functions at the Port of Seattle, SEA Airport facilities. You will perform all journey-level striping/painting duties as assigned. You will prepare and stripe all types of pavement surfaces that include but are not limited to: runways, taxiways, parking lots, and roadways. You will apply paint and protective coatings to the interior and exterior surfaces of buildings, structures, machinery, equipment, and facilities. You will scrape, sand, and prepare all surfaces for painting. You will be responsible to complete all required training through our Learning Management System.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years of experience of journey-level painting/striping.
  • Washington State Commercial Driver License (CDL) with a Class B Endorsement.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to operate power tools.
  • Knowledge of maintenance, commercial painting functions, product finishes, safety codes, regulations, and requirements for painter/striper work.
  • Ability to work from technical drawings, specifications, and operating manuals.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and partner with staff to achieve results.
  • Strong customer service and time management skills.
  • Commitment to equity and exemplifying shared values, behaviors, and practices.
  • Will be required to participate in the Port of Seattle Drug and Alcohol Program as required by the Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration.
  • Candidate may be disqualified for specific convictions or citations on their driving record within the past 5 years (e.g., more than two moving violations, speeding over 15mph, reckless driving, DUI, etc.).

  • Completed an approved apprentice program.
  • Experience operating striping truck/equipment.
