About The Position

The primary requirements of the Strip Mill Operator are to properly blend and process compounds through the mill and batch-off within allowable specifications. This role offers growth potential within a team-oriented environment and a dynamic culture.

Requirements

  • One or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • High School or GED preferred.
  • Willing to work overtime including weekends.
  • Close visual work required.
  • Knowledge of general computer skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to identify any issues with the product or process.
  • Ability to lift rubber stock off the mill and band it back on.
  • Ability to pull rubber strips (2-20 inches wide) from the mill and feed onto a take-off belt.
  • Ability to communicate with additional staff members.
  • Ability to fill out two-roll safety checklist.
  • Ability to fill out applicable paperwork.
  • Ability to clean grease pans weekly.
  • Ability to keep work area clean.
  • Ability to follow all safety procedures and guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Properly blend and process compounds through the mill and batch-off within allowable specifications.
  • Operate machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain quality control by monitoring production output.
  • Identify any issues with the product or process.
  • Cut the rubber stock off the mill and lift it back up to band on the mill.
  • Pull a rubber strip(s) approximately 2 to 20 inches wide, from the mill and feed it onto the take-off belt located approximately three feet away.
  • Communicate with additional staff members.
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
  • Fill out two-roll safety checklist.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining compound processing procedures.
  • Fill out any applicable paperwork.
  • Cut samples for QA testing.
  • Clean grease pans weekly.
  • Keep work area clean.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines along with assisting in modifying and updating procedures.
  • Operate a forklift for various functions.
