About The Position

Patient Transport Services, a subsidiary of Transdev Canada Inc, is Manitoba’s premier and largest provider of non-emergency patient transport. This is a full-time, entry-level position for a Stretcher Attendant in the Thompson, Manitoba region. No experience is necessary as extensive training is provided. This role involves working as part of a team to transfer patients between medical facilities, taking them home after a medical stay, and providing excellent customer service. The role operates 24/7 with a condensed work week of 48 hours (4 x 12-hour shifts), offering a 4 days on, 4 days off schedule to promote work-life balance.

Requirements

• Ability to remain calm and composed in emergency situations
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
• Ability to safely lift and transfer 250+ lbs. using a stretcher or stair chair in a team setting
• Safe driving practices with a clean driving record
• Child Abuse Registry Check (issued within the past 60 days)
• Adult Abuse Registry Check (issued within the past 60 days)
• Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search (issued within the past 60 days)
• Standard First Aid with CPR (BLS) (issued within the past 60 days)
• Valid Class 4F Driver’s License
• Must currently hold a Class 5F license

Responsibilities

• Co-ordinating with your partner to provide excellent customer service to patients
• Transferring stable patients between medical facilities
• Taking patients home after a medical stay
• Liaising with medical professionals
• Documenting patient information and all relevant information related to the transport
• Engaging with patients throughout the transfer
• Monitoring patients and responding to their needs
• Communicating with Dispatch
• Following all Safety protocols and procedures
