Responsible for overseeing the operation, programming, maintenance, and troubleshooting of stress furnace and electric preheating equipment, as well as training and supervising Stress Operators. This role requires an individual to perform essential functions satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations made for qualified individuals with disabilities. The position involves maintaining and performing routine maintenance on stress furnace and electric preheating equipment, training employees on proper equipment use and maintenance, and working closely with production to schedule operations in accordance with company commitments, plans, and budgets. Compliance with safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and regulations is mandatory. The role also includes reading and interpreting PWHT procedure guidelines, reviewing sketches for material types and wall thickness, troubleshooting and repairing problems, and coordinating with bay loaders for spool movement. Collaboration with QC is necessary to obtain procedures for stressing spools according to job requirements. The Foreman must be proficient in operating an overhead crane, rigging pipe, setting up welds (local and/or furnace), and identifying/protecting flange faces, thread ends, and specialty parts requiring heat treatment. Proper blocking or chocking of spools in the furnace and ensuring PWHT calibrations are within their due dates are also key responsibilities. The position requires applying knowledge of machining methods, including installing, aligning, and securing tools, attachments, fixtures, and workpieces on machines. It also involves using hand tools and precision measuring instruments, observing operations, and verifying conformance of machined workpieces to specifications. Reading blueprints or job orders to obtain product specifications and tooling instructions, processing production jobs, completing production paperwork and inspection procedures, and reporting discrepancies to management are also part of the duties. Maintaining tools, gauges, and equipment in a clean, safe, and orderly manner, and complying with company policies and procedures, especially safety regulations, are essential. Performing scheduled daily maintenance and training other personnel as required, along with other related duties as assigned, complete the scope of this role.
