About The Position

Responsible for overseeing the operation, programming, maintenance, and troubleshooting of stress furnace and electric preheating equipment, as well as training and supervising Stress Operators. This role requires the ability to maintain and perform routine maintenance on stress furnace and electric preheating equipment, train employees on proper use and maintenance of equipment, and work closely with production to schedule in accordance with company commitments, plans, and budgets. The position also involves complying with safety and environmental guidelines, reading and interpreting PWHT procedure guidelines, reviewing sketches for material types and wall thickness, troubleshooting and repairing problems, and coordinating with bay loaders for spool movement. Collaboration with QC is essential for obtaining procedures on stressing spools according to job requirements. The role demands proficiency in operating an overhead crane, proper rigging of pipe, setting up welds for local and/or furnace applications, and identifying/protecting flange faces, thread ends, and specialty parts requiring heat treatment. Additionally, the foreman must properly block or chock spools in the furnace, ensure PWHT calibrations are within their due dates, and apply knowledge of machining methods, including installing, aligning, and securing tools, attachments, fixtures, and workpieces on machines. This involves using hand tools and precision measuring instruments, observing operations, and verifying conformance of machined workpieces to specifications using measuring instruments. Reading blueprints or job orders to obtain product specifications and tooling instructions, processing production jobs, completing production paperwork and inspection procedures, reporting discrepancies to management, and maintaining tools, gauges, and equipment are also key responsibilities. The foreman must comply with company policies and procedures, paying special attention to safety regulations, perform scheduled daily maintenance, train other personnel, and perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
At least 5 years of experience with stress furnace ovens and local stress equipment

Responsibilities

Make sure all PWHT calibrations are within due date.
Apply knowledge of machining methods.
Install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and workpieces on machines.
Use hand tools and precision measuring instruments as needed.
Observe operation and verify conformance of machined workpieces to specifications using measuring instruments.
Read blueprints or job orders to obtain product specifications (dimensions and tolerances) and tooling instructions (fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut and cutting tools).
Process production jobs as required.
Complete production paperwork and inspection procedures as directed.
Report any discrepancies to management.
Maintain tools, gauges, and equipment in a clean, safe, and orderly manner.
Comply with company policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations.
Perform all scheduled daily maintenance as required.
Train other personnel as required.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
