•$75 - $110•Onsite

About The Position

Perform structural analysis using finite element analysis (FEA) and classical hand methods across project phases, including configuration studies, preliminary and detailed design, and verification and validation through static and dynamic testing. Analyze and size structural hardware according to prescribed loading environments and material properties, and generate structural strength and stability margins. Make configuration and design recommendations to optimize load paths and achieve more efficient designs. This is an 18-month W2 contract position with potential for extension or conversion. The role is onsite in Pasadena, California, follows a 9/80 work schedule, and requires customer- and contract-specific training, which will be provided. Candidates must be U.S. citizens. An offer is contingent on successfully passing a background check and drug screen. The stated US base pay range is $75–$110 per hour, plus benefits.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering.
  • Broad experience with structural analysis techniques, including classical hand analysis and finite element analysis using both coarse system-load and detailed stress FE models.
  • Working knowledge of MSC/NASTRAN or NX/NASTRAN and pre- and post-processing tools such as FEMAP.
  • Knowledge of metallic and composite structures, bonded-joint analysis, and bolted-joint analysis.
  • Knowledge of structural failure mechanisms, including material failure in metals and composites, instability of structural elements, and fatigue.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of nonlinear and dynamic response analyses, including sinusoidal, random, and time-history analyses.
  • Experience with static and dynamic testing.
  • Computer skills in MATLAB, NX CAD and Teamcenter, and SolidWorks.
  • TS/SCI clearance.
