The Stress Analyst Engineer I performs engineering work related to investigating and solving basic problems in the research, design, development, service, and manufacture of Gulfstream aircraft. The role performs stress analysis for new and derivative interior furnishing and amenity designs used in aircraft outfitting, including reviewing engineering models and drawings, preparing load calculations and finite element models, and writing stress reports. The work is conducted in collaboration with Structural Engineering and Structural ARs who provide approvals. Example analyses involve cabinetry such as galleys, lavatories, closets, and storage compartments; interior peripheries; water and waste systems; entertainment equipment; and seating installations. The position also analyzes airframe modifications required for interior installations, as well as aircraft-level issues such as decompression and floor loading. Methods include classical hand analysis and finite element modeling with FEMAP and Nastran. Assignments are completed under the direction of an Engineering Lead or Group Head to meet engineering, certification, and manufacturing schedules. Analysis methods and design standards follow company standards and accepted methods. The role is entry level, with work closely supervised and performed using established procedures.
