About The Position

The Stress Analysis Engineer - Technical Specialist III (TS III) role is responsible for leading and executing engineering projects of major complexity within established scope, schedule, and budget constraints. This position plans, develops, and coordinates critical engineering activities, determining and implementing solutions using advanced engineering principles and independent judgment. The engineer will make technical decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have a significant impact on program objectives and engineering activities. This role applies advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts based on broad expertise or specialized knowledge in structural analysis, fatigue, and damage tolerance. The engineer will perform reliability assessments of airframe structures within the Fatigue & Damage Tolerance (F&DT) group using hand calculations, finite element analysis (FEA), and proprietary tools. They will prepare, review, and approve FAA certification reports related to Static analysis, Fatigue and Damage Tolerance analysis of primary aircraft structures. The role also involves leading the development and implementation of innovative engineering methods, tools, and analytical approaches. The engineer will work under consultative direction, using independent judgment to accomplish objectives and resolve complex engineering issues. They will develop standards, methodologies, and best practices for diverse engineering activities within the stress and F&DT discipline. Additionally, the engineer will serve as a technical expert within the aerospace engineering field, advising and mentoring other engineers and contributing to team capability development. Staying current with industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in fatigue and damage tolerance and structural analysis is crucial. The engineer will also conduct and lead investigations in technically challenging areas where engineering precedents may be limited or unavailable. This position is for an engineering project containing critical problems, the solution of which requires major technological advances and extensive related development.
