About The Position

Strategic Resources, Inc. (SRI) is seeking a Strength and Conditioning Coach (SCC) to provide dedicated Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) physical-readiness support to the U.S. Army Reserve (USAR) 81st Readiness Division. The SCC will support geographically dispersed Army Reserve units, requiring routine travel and potential evening/weekend work. The role involves developing and delivering evidence-based physical-readiness programming, coaching Soldiers and leaders, mentoring H2F Integration Teams, and supporting injury-risk mitigation and reconditioning education.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field.
  • Current Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA); or Current Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) certification from the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa).
  • Current BLS/CPR with AED certification.
  • Minimum of three years of experience within the last four years designing and implementing strength and conditioning programs for tactical populations or collegiate/professional athletic teams.
  • Must be capable of properly lifting and manipulating loads up to 45 pounds.
  • Must be capable of meeting the physical demands of training with Soldiers in varied weather conditions.
  • Must be capable of hiking over rough terrain and functioning in austere environments to observe training.
  • Must maintain required professional credentials and certifications throughout employment.
  • Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule supporting Army Reserve training events, including evenings and weekends when required.
  • Must be willing and able to travel regularly within CONUS.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess or be able to obtain and maintain the required CONFIDENTIAL personnel security clearance and required installation, CAC, NIPRNet, and system access eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of command-specific Physical Readiness Training Programs and Special Conditioning Programs.
  • Develop and deliver physical-readiness curriculum in support of H2F onboarding.
  • Design, demonstrate, and lead comprehensive periodized strength and conditioning programs.
  • Develop programming that enhances multiple components of physical fitness and aligns with Army fitness requirements and unit Mission Essential Task Lists.
  • Provide expert instruction on proper exercise technique and safety protocols.
  • Develop and maintain practical physical-training resources, including scalable training templates, exercise-demonstration materials, and equipment-modification guides for units with limited resources.
  • Support efforts to reduce the incidence and severity of musculoskeletal injuries.
  • Coordinate with HPT members and unit medical personnel to develop and oversee educational physical-readiness programs for Soldiers returning from injury.
  • Coach and mentor H2F Integration Teams.
  • Provide technical guidance and hands-on training to improve unit capability to conduct safe and effective physical training.
  • Collaborate with other HPT disciplines to integrate physical readiness with nutrition, cognitive performance, recovery, and other H2F domains.
  • Participate in HPT meetings, planning sessions, working groups, and synchronization activities.
  • Contribute to required curriculum, implementation strategies, resource libraries, mentorship packages, reports, and After-Action Reviews.
  • Conduct recurring knowledge transfer to Government-designated personnel.
  • Travel routinely to Army Reserve subordinate units and training events.
