About The Position

The Strength and Conditioning Coach provides comprehensive physical readiness and performance services to New Hampshire National Guard Service Members and their Families. This position develops and delivers evidence-based strength and conditioning programs aligned with Army Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) principles to improve physical performance, reduce injury risk, and support readiness. This position is contingent upon the successful award of a contract currently under bid. Requirements

  • Tactical strength and conditioning and military physical readiness.
  • Strength training, conditioning, mobility, endurance, and functional fitness.
  • Army H2F principles and ACFT requirements.
  • Knowledge of Army body composition standards and circumference-based tape assessments.
  • Exercise programming, movement assessment, injury prevention, and recovery.
  • Strong coaching, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to tailor training programs to varying fitness levels and operational requirements.
  • Current Tactical Strength and Conditioning Facilitator (TSAC-F) or Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
  • Current American Heart Association First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of professional strength and conditioning, fitness, or physical readiness experience.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) and successfully complete the required background investigation and security screening.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Strength and Conditioning, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct physical performance and movement assessments and develop individualized training programs.
  • Provide strength, conditioning, mobility, endurance, and functional fitness coaching.
  • Prepare Service Members to successfully perform the physical demands of the Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT).
  • Provide remedial physical readiness support for personnel who do not meet established readiness standards.
  • Support medically supervised reconditioning and return-to-performance activities within the scope of professional qualifications.
  • Provide voluntary wellness and fitness coaching to Service Members and their Families.
  • Apply knowledge of Army FM 7-22, Holistic Health and Fitness, to physical readiness programming.
  • Apply knowledge of AR 600-9 and circumference-based body composition assessment requirements.
  • Educate Service Members on training techniques, injury prevention, recovery, mobility, and sustainable fitness practices.
  • Monitor client progress and adjust programs based on individual needs and performance.
  • Collaborate with other readiness professionals, including mental health and nutrition personnel, to support holistic wellness.
  • Maintain accurate client records and program documentation.
  • Provide in-person and virtual services and support outreach activities as required.
