About The Position

The Splunk Renewals Operations team is tasked with improving the renewal rate for the Splunk business, which is a top ELT initiative for Cisco. An executive-level Turnaround Team is meeting twice weekly to address roadblocks in our top deals and to transform our renewals strategy. We are seeking a Manager of Strategy & Planning who is eager to dive into the details and help solve the most challenging issues facing our top deals. This individual contributor will work both on tactical deal-by-deal problem solving and the long-term strategic optimization of the renewals business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in sales, renewals, customer success, or account management, preferably within the technology or SaaS industry.

  • Proven ability to manage a portfolio of accounts, conduct proactive outreach, and build strong, trust-based relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying "at-risk" accounts, analyzing churn drivers, and executing strategic mitigation plans in collaboration with cross-functional account teams.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate value propositions, negotiate renewal terms, and influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in utilizing CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and data analytics to track renewal health, forecast outcomes, and prioritize outreach efforts.
  • Ability to work seamlessly with Sales, Customer Success, and Product teams to ensure a unified approach to account health and renewal success.
  • Excellent project/program management skills; capable of taking a concept, building a plan, aligning stakeholders, and managing daily tasks to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Outstanding communications & influencing skills; experience collaborating with partners at all levels in a matrixed organization, producing executive-level content, leading meetings with senior stakeholders.
  • Able to put forward insightful recommendations; comfortable being empowered to make decisions; willing to push senior leaders constructively to drive necessary outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Work cross functionally with executives (e.g., Director, VP) to solve problems and remove roadblocks for at-risk renewal deals.
  • Help integrate Splunk renewals into Cisco, e.g., people, processes, tools.
  • Break down silos to drive cross-organizational collaboration, alignment, and buy-in; forge positive relationships; lead a matrixed team to win together.
  • Establish operational rigor to ensure execution and impact; measure and be accountable to quantifiable outcomes.
  • Take on other strategic work as role evolves - as a team with high executive engagement, our scope will shift regularly and flexibility is a must.
  • Report to a Leader of Strategy & Planning in the Splunk Renewals Operations org.
  • Will be part of a small highly-focused organization of approximately 10 people focused on turning around Splunk Renewals.
  • Will work directly with executives, e.g., Director/VP, on a regular basis.
