Strategy & Operations

Rockstar
$125,000 - $175,000

About The Position

Rockstar is recruiting for a Strategy & Operations role within a rapidly expanding deathcare company. This company is building the first national brand in this sector and is experiencing significant growth in new markets, new products, and an increasing number of simultaneous campaigns that exceed the capacity of their current systems. The purpose of this role is to establish and manage the operational infrastructure necessary to support this scale. The company believes in empowering high-agency generalists to build scaling businesses. They are transforming the deathcare industry, which is currently perceived as too expensive and complicated, by offering transparent pricing, exceptional hospitality, and leveraging significant funding for expansion. This role offers the opportunity to own and improve core operational domains, taking on chaotic problems, building systems to manage them, and then moving on to the next challenge. The position involves working directly with the leadership team with genuine operational authority.

Requirements

  • Generalist with a career combining a high-intensity analytical foundation (IB, PE, consulting, or founding a company) with hands-on operating experience at a VC-backed startup.
  • Experience owning a function end-to-end, not just advising on it.
  • Ability to take a chaotic problem from zero, understand it deeply, build the structure around it, and leave it running without direct involvement.
  • Hands-on approach, focusing on details where tactics and strategy converge.
  • Commercial mindset, thinking in terms of unit economics, margin, and growth, and connecting operational decisions to business outcomes.
  • Ability to build with and bring the team along, making the team stronger through the systems created.

Responsibilities

  • Own and uplevel a core domain from end-to-end, starting with go-to-market infrastructure for market expansion.
  • Understand operational domains in detail.
  • Build systems around operational domains, including metrics, processes, tooling, and documentation, enabling the team to run them independently.
  • Hand off owned domains within 6-12 months to move to new problems such as vendor relationships, service provider onboarding, or case volume management.
  • Drive measurable, visible improvements in core business metrics within nine months.
  • Build systems with the people who will run them, ensuring the team is strengthened by the new systems.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and equity
  • Generous health, dental, and vision coverage
