About The Position

Stripe is seeking a senior operator and systems thinker to join the Central Strategy and Operations (S&O) team. This role focuses on building the infrastructure that enhances Stripe's speed, clarity, and coordination as it scales. The Central S&O team is integral to the company's operations, owning planning processes, operating rhythms, information architecture, and cross-functional systems to enable faster, better decision-making by the leadership team. The ideal candidate is someone who proactively designs systems to replace broken processes and prioritizes automation. This role involves working with senior leaders across Stripe to design, run, and improve operational systems that link strategy to execution. It is a build-focused role, not a coordination or program management role, with end-to-end ownership of outcomes and a focus on raising the company's operational ceiling.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of work experience, with a significant portion in operational roles at high-growth tech companies (e.g., product operations, strategy and operations, business operations, company or corporate planning).
  • Proven track record of building and owning operational systems, with measurable improvements in how a company or large team operates.
  • Deep experience with company or functional planning, including annual planning, OKR and SOKR-style goal-setting, resource allocation, and operating cadence design.
  • Systems thinker with an automation-first mindset, instinctively utilizing tools, data pipelines, and AI-augmented workflows.
  • Strong analytical rigor, comfortable owning data and metrics, running analyses, and pressure-testing assumptions independently.
  • Experience working directly with and presenting to C-suite and senior executive stakeholders, with the ability to own the room and bring a sharp, independent perspective.
  • High comfort with ambiguity; ability to take an undefined operational problem, scope it, design a solution, and drive it to completion with minimal oversight.
  • Technical proficiency in AI tools for workflow automation.
  • Experience applying automation-thinking and scaled approaches to operational workflows (analysis, synthesis, systems, decision support).
  • Prior experience at a technology company is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in fintech, management consulting, or investment banking.
  • Experience with the product and infrastructure ecosystem at Stripe or similar complex platform businesses.
  • Familiarity with modern planning tools, workflow automation platforms, and operational data infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute Stripe's annual planning process, including managing offshoot workstreams and the frameworks leadership uses for decision-making.
  • Continuously improve existing processes, automate manual workflows, and redesign processes for greater efficiency.
  • Build, automate, and scale central operations infrastructure by identifying and replacing manual, repetitive, or fragmented processes with scalable systems, potentially involving structured data pipelines, AI-augmented workflows, or new tooling.
  • Translate strategy into operational reality by supporting strategic discussions in leadership forums through strategic thinking and architectural design.
  • Prepare and run leadership-level operating forums, contributing an independent perspective and owning follow-through.
  • Drive continuous operational improvement by working directly with senior leaders, challenging assumptions, and identifying breakdowns in operational systems (e.g., slow decisions, unclear handoffs, diffuse accountability) to address root causes.
