Landor is seeking a Strategy Director to join their Cincinnati studio. Requirements

  • Seasoned brand strategist with significant experience in CPG-focused environments.
  • Experience gained at a design-led agency, branding consultancy, or similar setting.
  • Deep expertise in CPG categories, retail and channel dynamics, innovation and renovation cycles, and the competitive impact of private label.
  • Strong command of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, including semiotics, shopper research, and consumer insight.
  • Proven track record developing portfolio and range architectures across multiple markets.
  • Ability to build and grow senior client relationships.
  • Experience contributing to organic business growth.
  • Ability to work across both brand design and communications to create cohesive consumer experiences.
  • Experience leading and developing strategists.
  • A distinctive point of view on consumer brands.
  • Confidence to challenge conventional thinking.

Responsibilities

  • Lead brand strategy projects for the Consumer practice, focusing on major CPG relationships and shaping practice operations.
  • Address client challenges such as declining relevance with younger shoppers, portfolio confusion, private label competition, and ineffective innovation pipelines.
  • Develop positioning, value propositions, and portfolio architectures informed by semiotics, packaging and shelf analysis, distinctive asset work, and cultural trends.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior client leaders, guiding them on strategic decisions.
  • Lead strategic direction across multiple engagements, defining brand visions, growth strategies, and innovative ideas.
  • Partner with Creative Directors to guide strategy through the creative process.
  • Inspire teams with consumer and category insights.
  • Champion the work with clients.
  • Identify opportunities that drive long-term growth for Fortune 100 companies.
  • Lead new business pitches.
  • Advance the practice's expertise in semiotics, packaging strategy, and distinctive brand assets.
  • Lead and develop other strategists.
