About The Position

The Strategy Development Manager plays a critical role in supporting the Chief Strategy Officer in shaping and executing CTBC Bank USA’s strategic agenda. This position leads analytical work that informs long-term strategy, evaluates and drives key strategic initiatives, manages cross-functional projects, and supports the bank’s M&A activities from early assessment through post-deal execution. The role requires strong business acumen, structured thinking, and the ability to work collaboratively across business units to transform strategic ideas into actionable plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 4–8 years of experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, investment banking, or financial-services strategy roles.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities (Excel, valuation frameworks, business cases).
  • Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to manage projects, coordinate cross-functional teams, and drive execution under tight timelines.
  • High attention to detail, ownership mindset, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong PowerPoint and presentation development skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with senior executive exposure.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience with banking, financial analysis, or M&A processes is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct market, competitive, financial, and regulatory research to support the bank’s strategic planning cycle.
  • Develop frameworks, business cases, and financial models that guide decision-making for new growth opportunities.
  • Prepare strategy materials, presentations, and updates for executive leadership and board-level discussions.
  • Lead or support enterprise-level strategic projects, including defining scope, milestones, deliverables, and execution plans.
  • Partner with business units (Commercial Banking, Retail, Risk, Operations, etc.) to track initiative progress, identify issues, and escalate key risks.
  • Structure and facilitate workshops, meetings, and working sessions to drive alignment and outcomes.
  • Support the end-to-end M&A process: opportunity screening, financial and strategic analysis, valuation modeling, and preliminary synergy assessment.
  • Coordinate due-diligence workstreams across credit, finance, operations, technology, and compliance functions.
  • Assist in developing integration plans, tracking Day-1 readiness, and supporting post-merger execution efforts.
  • Work closely with the Chief Strategy Officer to synthesize insights, prepare reports, and manage communications for senior executives.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure strategic initiatives are executed efficiently and consistently.
  • Perform related duties, as required, for the training and development purposes.
  • Performing all assigned duties under the bank’s compliance programs and related laws & regulations.
  • Successfully completing all mandatory training on related Bank’s and BSA compliances as well as other laws and regulations as assigned in a timely manner.
