About The Position

As Strategic Transactions & Partnerships Counsel, you will be a foundational member of Fireworks’ growing legal team and lead its most complex and consequential commercial deals. The role operates across large-scale procurement, strategic commercial partnerships, and model licensing, structuring and negotiating novel, high-stakes agreements that shape the business. It is suited to someone comfortable working in legally unsettled territory who understands the AI ecosystem. The role initially reports to the General Counsel. Fireworks describes its legal team as high-integrity, collaborative, low-ego, kind, supportive, and high-trust. The company builds AI infrastructure that enables enterprises to build, train, and serve models tailored to their data, workflows, and products. Requirements

At least 9 years of relevant experience, including significant complex commercial transactional work; experience spanning both law firm and in-house environments is ideal.
Juris Doctor (JD) and membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
Demonstrated ability to independently lead sophisticated procurement, partnership, and licensing deals end-to-end.
Deep familiarity with the AI ecosystem and the novel legal questions it raises.
Strong executive presence and sound judgment navigating ambiguity.
AI-forward, builder’s mindset, with demonstrated ability to use AI tools to streamline daily workflows and improve efficiency.

Nice To Haves

Experience in hypergrowth environments is preferred.
Experience spanning law firm and in-house work is ideal.

Responsibilities

Negotiate and structure complex agreements, including commercial transactions, strategic partnerships, large-scale compute procurement, and licensing arrangements.
Serve as the legal architect on first-of-their-kind deals without existing templates.
Partner directly with executive stakeholders to align deal strategy with business objectives.
Advise on commercial and strategic implications of the evolving AI landscape.
Help build transactional infrastructure and playbooks for a scaling legal function.
