The Strategic Trade Program Specialist manages trade compliance programs that reduce duty costs, support revenue growth, and enhance supply chain competitiveness. This role leads initiatives including duty drawback, Build America Buy America (BABA), post-entry duty recovery programs, HTS classification optimization, trade agreement utilization, and CTPAT. The position works cross-functionally with internal stakeholders, customs brokers, and government agencies to identify savings opportunities, ensure compliance, and deliver measurable financial results.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3-5 Years Trade Compliance Experience
  • Knowledge of import/export regulations, customs requirements, tariff classification, country of origin rules.
  • Effectively partners with Legal, Logistics, Operations, Procurement, Finance, and external advisors to drive compliance objectives and influence decision making without direct authority.
  • Communicates complex trad compliance risks, regulatory developments, and strategic recommendations clearly and concisely to executive leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and expand EnerSys's Duty Drawback Program, including coordination of drawback filings and identification of new recovery opportunities.
  • Administer the Build America, Buy America (BABA) compliance program and support product qualification efforts that enable customer sales opportunities.
  • Execute post-entry customs recovery initiatives, including the Civil Aviation Duty Exemption program and other duty savings opportunities.
  • Identify and implement duty reduction strategies through HTS classification reviews, country of origin analysis, and trade agreement utilization.
  • Analyze trade, duty, and shipment data to identify cost savings opportunities, compliance risks, and process improvements.
  • Monitor trade regulatory developments and communicate business impacts and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Support administration of EnerSys's CTPAT program and related supply chain security initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal business partners and external service providers to achieve compliance and cost savings objectives.
