About The Position
Inside the Role Procurement is one of the most international departments at DTNA. As a member of the department of Procurement Trucks and Buses (TP/G) team you will gain valuable experience and knowledge cross-functionally. There are multiple advancement and travel opportunities within the department. Our employees receive annual training in professional negotiation tactics, as well as training courses on internal DTNA functions. A position in procurement provides visibility to senior executive management within DTNA and other companies. Our vision is the establishment of a global, sustainable and value added procurement organization with highly trained employees. This position is responsible for the strategic procurement of Tubing & Exhaust products, Bellows, Hose products and A/C Line Components in the Mechatronics Purchasing team.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree with 3 years work experience in Procurement or Supply Chain related areas
- Ability to communicate complex issues across groups and levels
- Ability to take charge and lead tasks to completion
- Intermediate Microsoft Office experience
- Experience evaluating and selecting suppliers using analytical tools
- The position requires a self-starter, used to working independently, meeting deadlines with attention to detail and experience identifying and solving the root cause of complex problems
Nice To Haves
- Masters Degree or BS degree in supply chain
- Experience with Daimler Trucks procurement processes and tools OR knowledge of supplier landscape (regional and global), materials, and manufacturing technologies is require
- Experience working with international teams
- Experience leveraging AI tools and technologies to improve productivity, efficiency, or business outcomes
Responsibilities
- Negotiate or renew supplier agreements to purchase critical materials, parts components, tooling or services for DTNA production for a wide variety of Tubing/Hose/Belts with large strategic/global suppliers.
- Negotiate the most effective long term programs for DTNA - including supplier commitments for production pricing, pay terms and other conditions that will differentiate DTNA in the marketplace.
- Manage supplier relationships, including long term strategic partners.
- Work with suppliers to achieve DTNA cost goals for total supplier-driven costs.
- Negotiate long term agreements with suppliers, target: 90% AVoB coverage.
- Negotiate for exclusive products and services for DTNA.
- Develop long term global and regional commodity strategies, coordinate strategies globally.
- Evaluate alternative materials, methods, and technologies and alternative suppliers as necessary, to support DTNA’s VA/VE goals.
- Support and monitor results reporting through global business systems.
- Lead projects as assigned.
- Act as mentor for team members and operational support staff.
