Strategic Projects Lead

MetriportSan Francisco, CA
$140,000 - $160,000Hybrid

About The Position

Metriport is seeking a Strategic Projects Lead to own long-term healthcare projects that drive business growth and directly impact customer experience. This role will focus on Metriport's position in the healthcare interoperability landscape, navigating legal, technical, and compliance frameworks to support customer needs. The ideal candidate is a collaborative individual contributor who can identify internal needs solvable through partnerships, ruthlessly execute strategic efforts, ensure high-level alignment and coordination, and achieve measurable results. The company emphasizes a high-output, autonomous, and low-bureaucracy environment, valuing competence and ownership over pedigree. Leaders and the team are expected to be available six days a week, with trust placed in individuals to take necessary time off.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of project management, business operations, or MBB consulting experience.
  • 3+ years of building partnerships with external parties from scratch.
  • 3+ years of experience within healthcare interoperability.
  • Incredible organization that keeps you, internal stakeholders, and external stakeholders on schedule. Missed deadlines keep you up at night.
  • Familiarity with working in regulated industries and on projects that have significant governance requirements.
  • Comfortable taking an ambiguous objective, breaking it down to ensure alignment, identifying the most efficient way to accomplish it, and executing.
  • Sufficient knowledge of finance, data, compliance, and engineering to ask thoughtful questions and loop in the appropriate stakeholders when relevant.
  • Based in San Francisco (or willing to relocate) to work from our South Beach office.
  • Low ego, high ownership. Someone who asks 'Why can't this be done in 3 days?' instead of 3 weeks.

Responsibilities

  • Leading end-to-end execution of internal and external projects that require attention to detail and consideration of both national and state requirements.
  • Identifying the most important item to focus resources on and ensuring the most important task at hand is on track and priorities are aligned with the company’s needs.
  • Playing up to the leadership level, identifying different stakeholders, their incentives, and how to ensure Metriport can accomplish its goals within existing constraints.
  • Thinking and seeing five steps ahead, identifying future blockers and ensuring they don’t exist when they would become problematic.
  • Working through hard problems with many constraints, using sound judgment to assess risks and lay out arguments in well-structured, data-informed narratives.
  • Translating an understanding of our product (technical and non-technical components) into requirements and considerations within our strategic projects.
