About The Position

MISUMI Americas is seeking a Strategic Program Manager to partner with leading enterprises and startups, helping accelerate product launches while maintaining quality. The role serves as a trusted customer advisor, applying expertise in engineering, operations, quality, and logistics across the product lifecycle—from New Product Development (NPD) and New Product Introduction (NPI) through mass production.

The Strategic Program Manager works cross-functionally with Sales, Solutions Engineering, and Fulfillment teams to scope, plan, and execute complex programs. The position is responsible for aligning internal teams with customer goals and ensuring programs meet timelines, budgets, and quality standards. It also contributes to continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process and operational enhancements. All employees are expected to maintain and contribute to the QMS.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience managing projects or programs in fast-paced engineering or manufacturing environments.
• Hands-on experience with New Product Development (NPD), New Product Introduction (NPI), and high-volume manufacturing facilities.
• Expertise in at least one manufacturing process, such as CNC machining, 3D printing, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, die casting, or assembly.
• Customer-facing experience leading complex, consultative technical sales engagements and using operational expertise to drive success.
• Strong program management, risk management, and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines within a structured framework.
• Proficiency with standard program management tools and software for tracking, communication, and reporting across distributed teams.
• Self-starter with business acumen and a customer-first mindset, able to solve problems and build meaningful relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Focus on process optimization, service enhancement, and customer success.
• Strong interest in learning, building solutions, and tackling challenges.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and experience working with multicultural, cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary customer advocate and build relationships that support high-quality customer experiences and long-term loyalty.
• Collaborate with pre-sale and post-sale teams to support on-time delivery and proactively manage program risks and changes.
• Identify risks early, develop mitigation plans, and manage changes using engineering, manufacturing, and program management expertise.
• Serve as the program’s subject matter expert, advising internal teams and customers and ensuring alignment and clarity.
• Monitor and report program milestones, adjusting timelines and deliverables as needed to meet customer expectations and quality standards.
• Identify process-improvement opportunities and work with cross-functional teams to improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Facilitate regular customer and internal status meetings to communicate requirements, timelines, and quality standards, maintain alignment, and resolve blockers.
• Maintain and contribute to the QMS.
