Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Admin or Supply Chain Management.
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in procurement, contract management, and supplier management. Supply Chain accreditation is considered an asset.
  • Specialized knowledge of some specific commodities is an asset such as Insulators, Machined Parts, Sheet Metal parts, Conductive material, Electronics etc.
  • You have strong collaboration, persuasion/influencing abilities with project management skills, and the ability to drive supplier/product change projects within a cross-functional team.
  • Working knowledge of purchasing fundamentals including RFQ's, strong ability to apply classic and advanced negotiation methods (e.g., e-Auction), Incoterms 2020 knowledge etc.
  • Ability to access priorities, demonstrate flexibility and understand the sense of urgency.
  • Self-motivated, demonstrate problem solving abilities, continuous improvement and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
  • Advanced Microsoft capabilities (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and SAP are an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and Implement Commodity strategies to generate value and to minimize the overall cost and ensure reliable on-time supply of materials in the required quality to create a strong competitive advantage.
  • Drive Supplier Management process including contract negotiation, qualification, selection, evaluation, classification, development and claim management, to develop the best suppliers and ensure transparency.
  • Independently prepare and carry out negotiations with suppliers around the world.
  • Lead, implement or support complex supply chain projects for risk mitigation and future sustainability.
  • Understand in detail the cost structure of their commodity in detail for cost control and negotiations and identify potential improvements.
  • Implement and ensure usage of defined methods, processes and systems (e.g., compliant to Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) process, Procurement Guidelines, IT systems and compliance).
  • Align strategies and ensure close cooperation with internal customers such as Engineering, R&D, Production, Quality, as well as with other global factories.
