About The Position

The Strategic Procurement Analyst is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies that support the highly automated manufacturing of electronic connectors. This role goes beyond simple purchasing; it involves deep data analysis of market trends, supplier performance, and cost saving opportunities to ensure the Guntersville facility maintains its competitive edge and environmental stewardship goals.

Requirements

• 3 to 5 plus years in procurement, supply chain, or data analysis within a manufacturing environment, with electronics or automotive industries preferred.
• Bachelor degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle and advanced Excel.
• Proven ability to translate complex data sets into actionable procurement strategies.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with AI driven procurement tools is a significant plus given the plant focus on automation.
• Deep understanding of IATF 16949 Automotive Quality Management Systems and how it applies to supplier selection.
• Proficiency with PPAP Production Part Approval Process and IMDS International Material Data System reporting.
• Knowledge of RoHS Restriction of Hazardous Substances and REACH compliance for global electronics markets.
• Familiarity with USMCA rules of origin to ensure duty free movement of goods across North America.

Responsibilities

• Identify and vet global and local suppliers for raw materials including plastics for injection molding and metals for stamping or plating, as well as high tech components for robotic systems.
• Conduct Make vs Buy analyses and Total Cost of Ownership TCO evaluations to optimize the operational budget.
• Utilize AI driven demand forecasting and automated procurement systems to maintain lean inventory levels without risking production downtime.
• Lead negotiations for long term supply agreements, focusing on quality standards, lead times, and sustainability compliance.
• Monitor supplier KPIs, including on time delivery and quality metrics, and lead monthly and fiscal business reports.
• Partner with the JST Engineering and Sales teams to align procurement with new product designs and client requirements.
