About The Position

This role is for a Strategic Planner 5, located in Beaverton, OR. The position is a hybrid role, requiring onsite work Monday through Thursday and remote work on Fridays. The engagement is for a duration of 3 months. The core of the work involves focusing on short-term or long-term business direction, goals, processes, and purchases. This includes developing strategic plans for continued growth and profitability, conducting environmental scans and organizational positioning analyses, and identifying, investigating, evaluating, and negotiating acquisitions, divestitures, licensing opportunities, and strategic business alliances aligned with long-range goals. The role also drives a planning process to ensure all gates and dates are understood and deliverables are met, while monitoring factors that may necessitate strategy redirection. Additionally, the planner will lead the development of strategic initiatives and objectives for the current year and the 3-year Strategic Plan at the Regional Level, working with business units/functions to ensure alignment and integration. This includes identifying relevant measures and driving accountability for performance against objectives by preparing for and assisting in leading the Quarterly Business Review process.

Requirements

  • Minimum undergrad degree required
  • 10+ years’ experience in a strategic planning role
  • Strategic planning/thinking/forecasting
  • Project management
  • High impact written communication
  • Typically requires a Bachelors Degree and minimum of 10 years directly relevant experience; experience should include comprehensive experience as a business/process leader or industry expert
  • One of the following alternatives may be accepted: PhD or Law + 8 yrs; Masters + 9 yrs; Associates degree + 11 yrs; High School + 12 yrs.

Responsibilities

  • Develops strategic plan(s) to ensure the continued successful growth and profitability.
  • Conducts environmental scans, organizational positioning analyses and other studies.
  • Identifies, investigates, evaluates and negotiates acquisitions/divestitures, licensing opportunities and strategic business alliances that are in line with the organization's long-range goals.
  • Drive a planning process in which all gates and dates are clearly understood and that result in all Corporate planning deliverables being met.
  • Monitor factors that would indicate the need for redirection of strategy.
  • Lead the process of developing strategic initiatives and objectives for the current year and the 3-year Strategic Plan at the Regional Level, and work with business units/functions to ensure objectives are aligned and integrated.
  • Identify relevant measures and drive accountability for ongoing performance against business and strategic objectives by preparing for and help leading Quarterly Business Review process.
