About The Position

Stratus is seeking a Strategic People Partner who thinks like an operator and has a passion for people-related work. This role is embedded in a complex and strategically important part of the business, working directly with leaders. The partner will own people outcomes for their business unit, including organizational design, talent decisions, leadership development, and handling challenging situations. This is not a traditional HRBP role, but rather for someone who has experience in consulting, strategy, or finance, or has gravitated towards business problems within HR.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of experience, ideally including a business-facing People role and prior experience in consulting, operations, finance, or a startup.
• Ability to think in terms of business outcomes first and people levers second.
• Proficiency with data to analyze headcount models or retention trends.
• Strong judgment to determine what to escalate, absorb, or push back on.
• Exposure to M&A or integration environments is a strong plus.

Nice To Haves

• An MBA or equivalent business training is a plus, but not a requirement.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the single accountable People partner for the assigned business unit, owning the outcome.
• Shape decisions regarding organizational structure, team health, and talent proactively.
• Support leaders through integration activities, including managing new teams, culture gaps, and retention risks.
• Manage the full employee lifecycle for the unit, including performance, compensation, hiring calibration, and employee relations.
• Translate business context (e.g., pipeline, headcount, P&L pressure) into relevant People strategies.
• Partner with the broader People function to implement programs while maintaining the specific nuances of the business unit.
