About The Position

We’re looking for a Strategic Partnerships Manager to lead and cultivate relationships with some of the most important app and digital platform partners and developers in Australia and New Zealand. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys managing large, complex, and strategically important partnerships. You will act as a trusted strategic partner to key accounts, helping them unlock growth opportunities, navigate platform capabilities, and make the most of the commercial and product ecosystem around them. You’ll bring together strategic thinking, strong relationship management, business development instincts, and a deep interest in the apps and digital platform space. You will be expected to identify opportunities, shape initiatives, influence senior stakeholders, and work cross-functionally to deliver outcomes that benefit both partners and the wider ecosystem. It’s an exciting and rewarding opportunity for someone who is ready to immerse themselves in the apps ecosystem, partners’ businesses, and interactions with founders and the C-suite. NB! This is a 12m fixed-term contract for maternity leave cover from 1 Sept onwards.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in strategic partnerships, business development, account leadership, or commercial strategy, ideally in digital platforms, apps, media, technology, or adjacent ecosystems.
  • Track record of managing large, strategically important accounts and building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, including founders and C-suite leaders.
  • Commercially minded and confident in identifying, shaping, negotiating, and landing opportunities that drive business growth.
  • Strong market intelligence and business curiosity, with a real interest in app ecosystems, distribution platforms, digital business models, and how partners grow.
  • Consultative style, using insights, data, and strategic thinking to guide decisions and add value beyond day-to-day relationship management.
  • Highly collaborative and comfortable leading initiatives across multiple cross-functional teams, especially in complex and matrixed environments.
  • Strong problem solver who can navigate ambiguity, resolve issues thoughtfully, and keep momentum moving.
  • Communicate clearly and confidently, with strong presentation, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
  • Eligible to legally work in the country where we're hiring.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the apps, media, entertainment, subscription, or creator economy space would be highly valuable.

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute the partnership strategy for a portfolio of high-value apps and digital partners across Australia and New Zealand.
  • Identify, prioritise, and drive opportunities for mutual growth, balancing partner needs with broader business goals.
  • Set the vision and direction for how key accounts can grow within the platform ecosystem, using a mix of commercial, strategic, and product-led levers.
  • Act as a senior strategic partner to key stakeholders, bringing strong judgment, commercial thinking, and market perspective.
  • Provide data-driven insights and strategic recommendations to help partners optimise performance, unlock growth, and strengthen their business outcomes.
  • Pitch, negotiate, and execute commercial opportunities, product features, and partnership initiatives that drive value for both sides.
  • Understand how decisions are made within partner organisations, uncover business needs, and match them to relevant solutions and opportunities.
  • Contribute to the creation, negotiation, and implementation of business development agreements that support long-term growth.
  • Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders across product, marketing, operations, payments, engineering and go-to-market teams to shape and deliver initiatives.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and broader shifts in the apps ecosystem to identify new risks, opportunities, and strategic openings.
  • Manage and resolve partner issues with sound judgment, creativity, and a strong bias toward solutions.
  • Develop and execute innovative or first-of-a-kind partnership initiatives that strengthen the ecosystem and create measurable impact.
  • Represent the business with credibility through strong written communication, presentations, and senior stakeholder interactions.
