About The Position

Oscar is hiring a Strategic Insights Senior Analyst, Data Analytics for its Pharmacy Program Management team. The role partners across the organization to identify and manage business inefficiencies and supports business units in scoping, analyzing, and monitoring key financial and utilization metrics aligned with company goals. The analyst works independently with stakeholders to define questions and scope analyses, and may present prepared analysis internally or externally. The work aims to reduce medical waste and deliver more affordable, higher-quality health care for Oscar members. The position is based in Oscar’s Tempe, Arizona office and follows a hybrid schedule with three in-office days each week. Thursday is required for team meetings and events; the other two office days are flexible. The role reports to the Senior Director, Pharmacy Program Management. The stated base salary is $75,265.20–$98,785.58 per year, with eligibility for employee benefits, unlimited vacation, and annual performance bonuses.

Requirements

At least 1 year of technical work experience using analytical tools and writing analytical reports.
At least 1 year of demonstrated ability to work with large datasets and distill analyses into relevant insights using structured, systematic thinking.
Experience communicating updates and resolutions to customers and other partners about business reporting impact and requirements, demonstrated through at least two reporting projects involving communication between technical and non-technical users.
Experience with SQL, including filtering, aggregating, and building CTEs, or proficiency in R or Python, including Pandas, for loops, and statistical tests.
Proficiency in Google Sheets or Excel, including VLookup, nested IF statements, and connected Sheets.
At least 1 year of experience in healthcare, finance, or the insurance industry.

Nice To Haves

At least 1 year of experience preparing healthcare analytics and reporting.
At least 1 year of experience managing value-based contracts at a payer or provider organization, such as an ACO, CIN, or MSO.
At least 1 year of experience developing dashboards and working with Looker or other business intelligence or data visualization tools.
Experience working in healthcare in a health plan, PBM, or pharmacy setting.
Exposure to healthcare contract negotiations, risk adjustment, the ACA marketplace, quality of care, or population health.

Responsibilities

Analyze data to help business teams make informed, data-driven decisions.
Communicate findings to non-technical colleagues by presenting them clearly, concisely, and compellingly.
Oversee the creation and maintenance of operational and analytical dashboards, and update and enhance them as user needs evolve.
Create models and tools that generate relevant insights, identify inefficiencies, and help remove them.
Collaborate across the organization to identify actions for improvement and monitor initiative impact.
Support other strategic projects as assigned to meet business needs.
Comply with applicable laws and regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
