About The Position

As a Strategic Initiatives Manager, you'll play a key role in shaping the future of a large, mission-driven healthcare organization by leading high-impact initiatives that drive growth, innovation, and long-term success. In this role, you'll partner with senior leaders across the organization to evaluate new business opportunities, support mergers and acquisitions, assess market trends, develop financial and operational insights, and help bring strategic initiatives from concept to execution. You'll lead complex, cross-functional projects, influence decision-making, and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to deliver meaningful outcomes. We're looking for someone who combines strong analytical and project management skills with the ability to build relationships, navigate ambiguity, and drive results. Experience in healthcare strategy, consulting, business development, finance, or operations is highly valued.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Five years’ relevant experience, preferably in the healthcare provider or healthcare consulting industry
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
  • Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Rare climbing.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the strategy initiatives within an assigned region or portfolio of work, inclusive of market research, strategic planning, partnerships and other investments, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic planning projects.
  • Supports and/or leads the assessment and implementation of these initiatives with leaders within assigned region or portfolio of work.
  • Plans, organizes, and tracks progress of multiple initiatives and projects in collaboration with the strategy leader.
  • Responsible for mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, partnerships, the development of new products or services, and the development of materials for the board and senior leadership.
  • Leads specific strategic initiatives, including developing effective and positive relationships with multiple stakeholders, assuring successful implementation, including managing timelines, resources, and deliverables.
  • Collaborates with other members of the strategy department, as well as leaders throughout the system and region, on assigned strategic initiatives.
  • Gathers market-relevant data about current and projected community needs, competitors, and the physician community to inform strategic planning.
  • Assesses potential investments to determine impact on market share, volumes, pricing, staffing, and other costs.
  • Develops forecasts of the short-term and long-term financial impact.
  • Supports data collection, analysis, and reporting to ensure a thorough understanding of the clinical, financial, and operating implications of transactions, new programs, and technology changes.
  • Participates in system and region-wide training as it relates to core competencies surrounding the operating model and project management.
  • Provides data and other information for key deliverables to facilitate decisions about strategic initiatives and investments, including mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
  • Develops project plans and supports the implementation of new initiatives, partnerships, and transactions consistent with organizational decisions and plans.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
