About The Position

The Manager, Strategic Initiatives is a key contributor to advancing strategic priorities and operational effectiveness of the Office of the President and CEO (OPC). Reporting to the Senior Director, Strategic Initiatives, this role will help drive alignment foundation-wide, coordinate complex deliverables, and champion continuous process improvement. The incumbent will provide day-to-day operational support to the Office of the President and CEO, coordinating cross-functional activities, managing competing priorities, and enabling the effective delivery of strategic and operational objectives. This position requires a high degree of professionalism, discretion, and adaptability. The Manager may interact with senior executives, board members, and internal leaders, and must be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or journalism, business administration, public administration or STEM, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in executive-level communications and strategic project management.
  • Experience supporting senior leaders and managing executive-level priorities and deliverables.
  • Experience with digital platforms such Blackbaud (or other CRMs) and Diligent
  • Demonstrated ability to manage issues with discretion, diplomacy, and tact.
  • Proactive problem solver who identifies potential challenges early and develops effective solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to coordinate multiple priorities in a fast-paced, executive setting.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and follow through on commitments.

Responsibilities

  • Draft a variety of executive-level communications, including presentations, reports, and briefing materials, ensuring clarity and alignment with the CEO's messaging and strategic direction.
  • Create and refine presentations for executives and stakeholders, ensuring content is clear, well-structured, and visually engaging.
  • Edit and format communications from the OPC, incorporating and tracking feedback from a variety of stakeholders.
  • Working collaboratively with the Communications Team to explore and execute new communications strategies for the OPC.
  • Coordinate strategic initiatives in the OPC to ensure project activities are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Contribute to and support delivery of cross-functional projects by collecting and analyzing information, preparing materials and presentations, and coordinating implementation activities.
  • Work on additional special projects, as assigned.
  • Identify and implement improvements to processes and workflows in the OPC, promoting operational excellence and adherence to leading practices.
  • Contribute to cross-functional process improvement initiatives, ensuring solutions are aligned with the strategic priorities and operational needs of the OPC.
  • Support the logistics within the governance portfolio, including assisting with coordination of the recruitment process for new board members, refining existing processes, and elevating experience for board members.
  • Assist in supporting Committee-level work, including working with management leads in document preparation and taking minutes.
