About The Position

This position serves as the analytical extension of the Vice President of Finance on the Finance team. The role owns recurring executive reporting, financial forecasting, lender reporting, executive dashboards, profitability analyses, and other decision-support tools while serving as the primary analytical resource for strategic projects across the organization. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, enjoys solving ambiguous business problems, and thrives in environments where analytical thinking matters more than following predefined processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or related experience.
  • 2-5 years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, Consulting, or similar analytical role.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including: Financial modeling, Complex formulas, Dynamic array formulas, Pivot Tables, Power Query, Data validation, Scenario and sensitivity analysis, Model auditing and troubleshooting, Ability to understand and improve legacy workbooks.
  • Strong understanding of: Financial statements, Forecasting methodologies, Financial analysis techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to reverse engineer complex Excel models developed by others, understand the underlying business logic, update assumptions, validate results, and improve the analysis with minimal guidance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Engineering, Consulting, Construction, Architecture, Environmental Services, or project-based businesses.
  • Experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence tools.
  • Experience with ERP systems, Vantagepoint preferred.
  • Knowledge of project accounting and project-based financial metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Own recurring Finance reporting and analyses, including cash flow forecasting, financial forecasting, lender reporting, executive dashboards, profitability reporting, and other decision-support tools used by Executive Leadership.
  • Serve as a trusted financial partner to Executive Leadership and internal departments by providing financial insight, evaluating business opportunities, and supporting strategic decision-making.
  • Maintain and enhance existing financial models, executive workbooks, and reporting tools to ensure they remain accurate, reliable, and relevant.
  • Develop new financial models and analyses to support evolving business needs, strategic initiatives, and executive requests.
  • Continuously improve Finance processes through automation, standardization, and enhanced reporting methodologies.
  • Document and maintain financial models, recurring analyses, and reporting processes to support business continuity and organizational knowledge.
  • Partner with Accounting, Contracts, Revenue Operations, Operations, and Executive Leadership to provide financial insight and support strategic business decisions.
