About The Position

Lightfield is seeking an individual to join their Strategic Finance & Operations team. This role will contribute to building the financial and operating infrastructure necessary for Lightfield's growth. The position involves working directly with the Head of Operations and closely with the CEO and leadership team on strategic finance, company planning, and business operations. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing the metrics, models, analyses, and processes used for understanding the business and making informed operating decisions. This is an opportunity for someone with a strong financial and analytical background to transition from analyzing businesses to actively building one.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, growth investing, strategic finance, or another highly analytical environment.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills and can build analyses from scratch.
  • Comfortable taking ambiguous questions, structuring the problem, and working with imperfect data to get to an answer.
  • Strong business judgment and can turn complex analyses into clear, actionable takeaways.
  • Excited to work in a fast-moving startup environment and get into the weeds.

  • Prior startup or operating experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Build operating metrics and reporting. Develop and maintain the dashboards, KPIs, and reporting used to understand performance across revenue, growth, customers, spend, and efficiency.
  • Support forecasting and planning. Help build and maintain financial models, forecasts, budgets, and headcount plans, and analyze performance against plan.
  • Run strategic analyses. Dig into company-level questions, bring together data from across the business, and turn analysis into clear insights that inform decisions.
  • Improve spend visibility. Build reporting around company spend, identify trends and opportunities, and provide the analysis needed to make better spending decisions.
  • Build operating infrastructure. Help establish the systems, processes, and reporting cadences needed to run the company with greater rigor as the company grows.
  • Work cross-functionally. Partner with teams across the company to gather data, understand performance, and execute on cross-functional projects.
  • Support high-priority projects. Work directly with the Head of Operations on strategic, financial, and operational priorities as they emerge.
