About The Position

The School of Public Health (SPH) Strategic Website Content Specialist will support a revamping of the current SPH website including, but not limited to, the development, organization, and presentation of information to ensure that our messaging is clear, accessible, user-friendly, and aligned with SPH communications goals. This role will work with faculty, staff, and departmental stakeholders to simplify complex content, improve website navigation, and enhance the overall user experience for prospective students, current students, faculty, staff, and external audiences.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in communications, public health, marketing, English, information science, or a related field.
• Experience managing or organizing website content
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
• Ability to simplify complex information for diverse audiences
• Excellent organizational and project management skills
• Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and manage competing priorities.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with higher education or public health websites
• Familiarity with content management systems (CMS)
• Knowledge of web accessibility standards and user experience principles
• Experience conducting content audits and developing content strategies

Responsibilities

• Review, assess, and reorganize existing website content for clarity, consistency, and usability.
• Develop and maintain logical website structures, page hierarchies, and navigation pathways.
• Remove outdated, duplicate, or unnecessary content.
• Ensure content aligns with university branding and accessibility standards.
• Translate complex academic, research, and administrative information into clear, audience-focused language.
• Improve content readability and visual presentation.
• Create concise summaries, headings, and page descriptions that enhance user engagement.
• Recommend best practices for presenting information across web pages and digital platforms.
• Conduct content audits and identify opportunities to improve website organization.
• Collaborate with departments to gather, update, and prioritize web content.
• Recommend strategies to improve user navigation and access to key information.
• Support implementation of web content governance and quality standards.
• Meet with faculty and staff to understand content needs and priorities.
• Provide guidance on web content development and maintenance.
• Serve as a resource for best practices in digital communication and content strategy.
