About The Position

The Content Marketing Manager will develop and oversee a comprehensive content marketing strategy aligned with company goals and identified target audience needs. This role is responsible for contributing to brand awareness and loyalty, lead generation, sales and reporting out results. While working closely with marketing and cross-functional partners you will translate initiatives into specific projects and actionable plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Journalism or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in content marketing, with a proven track record of developing and executing successful content strategies.
  • Experience with content management systems and marketing tools.
  • Proficiency in content creation tools and software.
  • Strong understanding of SEO principles
  • Excellent project management, time management, and organizational skills
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Collaborative team player with strong communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Life Science or Science Education background is a major plus but not required.
  • SEO tools like Ahrefs, Google Search Console, SEM Rush, or Clearscope.
  • CMS tools like WordPress, Hubspot, Oracle or others.
  • Reporting platforms like Google Analytics G4, Adobe, Heap or comparable.
  • Digital asset management tools like Canto, Frontify, PICS.IO, Acquia DAM or others.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft office tools.
  • Working knowledge of basic HTML and CSS is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive content marketing strategy with focus on free, paid, and gated assets.
  • Work to produce engaging and on-brand content that helps convert readers into new lead opportunities, brand champions, and sales using a diverse mix of written, visual, audio, and interactive media across owned, earned, paid, and shared media channels.
  • Lead the curation of new high-quality content and the condensing or retirement of existing content.
  • Partner with Marketing of the development and facilitation of channel distribution initiatives for markets and brands.
  • Optimize content for search engines, including AI LLMs and SEO best practices.
  • Establish brand voice and consistency across existing and future content. Demonstrate consistent improvements in positioning Carolina as a thought leader in high-quality educational content.
  • Conduct market competition research and audience analysis to inform content creation and distribution strategies.
  • Monitor and analyze content performance metrics to continuously improve and refine strategies.
  • Recommend and bring to fruition a content library (CMS) for all internal stakeholders to access.
