About The Position

Geotab is seeking a Strategic Communications Specialist who will execute Geotab's communications strategy by developing and implementing impactful communication initiatives that build the company's reputation, drive media engagement, and advance business objectives. This role is ideal for someone who loves technology and is keen to join an industry leader.

Requirements

3-5 years of experience in corporate communications, technology communications, and/or agency experience.
Proven experience in media relations, including building and managing networks of journalists, trade reporters, and social media influencers, with a focus on North America.
Hands-on experience with media measurement and monitoring tools such as CISION, Meltwater, Google Analytics, and AI-driven solutions.
Exceptional writing skills with the ability to create compelling content across multiple formats including media releases, social media, and presentations.
Experience with strategic planning, annual plan development, and reporting on media and social media performance metrics.
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
Confident, polished communicator with the ability to represent Geotab with journalists, executives, partners, and at industry events.

Nice To Haves

A postgraduate diploma in Communications or PR is considered a strong asset.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute communication initiatives that deliver impactful messaging to a diverse audience and advance Geotab's business growth objectives.
Create content and storytelling strategy to support Geotab's overall media and thought leadership strategy, including media releases, social media, presentations and background research/data analysis.
Manage the Geotab reporting program including media metrics, wire distribution, insights, and dashboards (CISION, Meltwater, Google Analytics, and others).
Coordinate and own the strategy and logistics of campaigns, announcements, media briefings, press interactions and presence at strategic industry events.
Build and manage relationships with journalists and external stakeholders to build reputation and create ongoing opportunities to tell Geotab's business story.
Monitor and evaluate evolving media trends, tools, and technologies (including AI-driven solutions) and recommend improvements to elevate communications practices and impact.
Conduct ongoing competitive analysis and benchmarking to inform strategic communications and social media strategy.
