About The Position

The Strategic Advocacy Manager is responsible for assisting in the development and management of enterprise and business unit-specific advocacy programs through grassroots and grass tops initiatives. This role supports collaboration with federal and state government relations and business unit leaders to proactively identify public policy and business unit priorities in need of strategic advocacy supports. The manager contributes to the development and implementation of strategies that leverage best practices and cutting-edge capabilities to continuously enhance the strategic advocacy function. They develop concise, precise, and compelling communications to motivate key stakeholders to contact elected officials and regulators on public policies that align with the company's core business priorities. The role also supports the management and development of content for multiple communication platforms, assists with coordinating consultants and vendors for advocacy platforms including budget management, and helps secure and execute earned and paid media. Additionally, the manager contributes to the development and maintenance of data-driven tracking of strategic advocacy programs, including key performance indicators.

Requirements

  • Requires a BA/BS in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the development and management of enterprise and business unit-specific advocacy programs through grassroots and grass tops initiatives.
  • Supporting collaboration with federal and state government relations and business unit leaders to proactively identify public policy and business unit priorities in need of strategic advocacy supports.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of strategies that leverage best practices and cutting-edge capabilities to continuously enhance strategic advocacy function.
  • Developing concise, precise, and compelling communications to motivate key stakeholders to contact local, state, and federal elected officials and regulators on public policies that align with the company's core business priorities and other strategic business needs.
  • Supporting the management and development of content for multiple communication platforms (e.g., websites, newsletters, social media, etc.).
  • Assisting with coordinating consultants and vendors for multiple grassroots and grasstops platforms, including budget management.
  • Assisting in securing and executing earned and paid media through consultants and aligned third-parties support advocacy efforts.
  • Contributing to the development and maintenance of data-driven tracking of strategic advocacy programs, including key performance indicators.
